Event Date: 15th - 17th May

Opponents:  Dulwich College Singapore, Tanglin Trust, Epsom Malaysia, Nexus Malaysia, Nexus Singapore, GIS, ISP, JIS (Brunei), Marlborough College, Tenby, Harrow Bangkok, Shrewsbury Bangkok

This season we have seen the numbers grow for U13 netball, and off the back of a successful AIMS competition, we decided to enter two teams into the U13 FOBISIA competition.  For our A team, this added an additional challenge to them to strengthen their game and decision-making against some strong competitors, and for the B team, it was a learning experience due to many being new to netball this academic year.   Saturday was a mixed day for the two teams, with lots of experience gained and reflection on their game.  As the day progressed, each team improved their decision-making and passing through the court.

The second day saw the girls split into the Cup and Plate competition, which suited each team better.  A team went into the cup and faced Tanglin, Marlborough and Jeredong International School - finishing 6th Place overall.  They played some exceptional netball on this day, moving the ball seamlessly through the court, and making well-timed drives onto the ball.  The B team went into the plate competition and faced Shrewsbury Bangkok, Epsom and ISP.  They won their first game of the weekend against Epsom, which was a wonderful moment for the girls and showcased the progress they had made during the weekend, and narrowly lost 3-2 to ISP, resulting in them finishing 6th in the plate competition.

MVP Awards:

A Team - Clarice Martin
B Team - Japsohela Gill

A fantastic experience for all involved, and we have reflected on this in their recent EPA sessions this week, discussing with the students their key takeaway moments and learning from the competition, as well as what they want to see improved in their game moving forward.  I look forward to seeing how they continue to grow next year, as some move into U15, and some will be at the top end of our U13’s.
