Sixth Form Overview

Alice Smith School offers a broad range of experiences in Key Stage 5 of which linear (2-year) A Levels are the main academic element.

Your child can tailor their curriculum to suit their interests, strengths, needs and aspirations and follow personalised pathways comprising of:

  • Enrichment activities (including leadership, service and physical activity)
  • The Extended Project Qualification; an individual research project on a topic of the student’s choice. This is equivalent to half of an A Level and prepares students for university through the development of key skills. You can read more about EPQ in our KLASS Blog here.

Sixth Form OverviewIn addition, they are able to follow the ACHIEVE Programme which supports student development by helping them flourish as an individual. ACHIEVE is instrumental in ensuring that the wider aspects of your child’s development are addressed through the academic curriculum and a dedicated programme of learning experiences. This combination of experiences is bespoke to Alice Smith; each one being tailored to suit our students’ needs, strengths and preferences with the aim of nurturing wellbeing, character, personal awareness and self-confidence within a challenging, vibrant and supportive environment.

In addition to these experiences every student receives comprehensive support in careers education, university applications and preparation for life beyond school to ensure they leave us as accomplished, self-assured young people equipped to lead highly successful international lives.

Excellent Academic Results

We have consistently excellent academic results, which in turn lead to an impressive 88% of our students obtaining a place at their first choice university, with the majority of students choosing to study in the UK.

Our Sixth Form students are very much an integral part of the Alice Smith School, directly benefiting from its wide range of first-class facilities and educational provision, participating fully in school life and providing a good example to younger students.
