On Thursday 16th October, the children in
Reception celebrated completing their first half term with a Teddy Bears’
picnic. We celebrated the different topics that had been covered in class and
praised the children for learning and following the Golden Rules.
Each child brought their favourite teddy in to school to take
part in the many activities provided.
The children made their own delicious biscuits and decorated
them like Teddy Bears, Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to support
the children with baking.
Each child designed and made a teddy bear head dress to wear
to the picnic. It was great to see the excitement on each child’s face as they walked
through the jungle tunnel and entered an afternoon packed full of fun
We played lots of games where children had to listen and
follow instructions. All one hundred and ten children ‘role-played’ the famous
“We’re going on a bear hunt” by Michael Rosen. The children also loved learning
new songs and performing dance routines in the hall.
The children’s behaviour was excellent throughout the entire
event despite the high levels of energy and excitement.
The children, teachers and of course Teddy Bears had a
