From the 19th - 21st June The Alice Smith School proudly
hosted The 2014 Primary FOBISIA Games. The following schools were in
attendance; The Alice Smith School, Garden International School, Harrow
International School (Bangkok), Patana School (Bangkok), International School
of Jakarta, and Tanglin Trust School (Singapore).
KLASS entered 36 students at U9 Boys, U9 Girls, U10 Boys,
U10 Girls, U11 Boys and U11 Girls level with 6 students per category. The Games
took place over 3 days with each athlete participating in Athletics, Swimming,
Tee-Ball and Football. There were several outstanding performances on display,
personal bests broken, new meet records set and fantastic participation,
effort, motivation and dedication from all of our athletes. Our athletes,
staff, and coaches all thoroughly enjoyed the event and are proud to have had
the opportunity to host the Games.
KLASS achieved the following results:

A remarkable set of results, with big improvements made from
the previous year, most notably in Tee-Ball. Congratulations to all of the
students involved. A detailed coach’s report will be published next week.
I would particularly like to mention our 6 FOBISIA reserves;
Owen Allwood, Niamh Roddy, Max Williams, Erin McNeice, Bryn Tomlinson and Emily
Wilson for their time, commitment and effort during this term's FOBISIA
training. We understand that being a reserve is a difficult task when faced
with the prospect of attending training but not always having the experience of
participating in the Games. This takes character, resilience and humility and I
am proud of each of this year’s reserves for the demeanor that they have
demonstrated. Furthermore, thank you to each of them for their help and support
during the FOBISIA Athletics Competition.
Finally, I would like acknowledge and thank Mr Grimshaw for
his hard work, time, effort and commitment in organising and hosting the Games.
An excellent achievement and one that every member of KLASS should be proud of.
