On Tuesday of
this week, the Council of Governors held its annual ‘Strategy Day’ to discuss
and evaluate its priorities for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The Whole School Leadership Team attended the
event and Mr Schultz, Mrs Fuller and I gave presentations on topics of interest
such as ‘The development of sport at the Alice Smith School’ and ‘How the
Council can assist the school in the recruitment and retention of high quality
teachers’. The day was very productive and I am sure that the Chair of the
Council, Lorien Holland, will be sharing the Council’s agreed priorities with
you in due course.
Following a very
successful first round of recruitment in January, Mr Schultz, Mrs Fuller and I
will be recruiting for the second and final time in the UK next week, making
the last few appointments to complete our team of highly qualified teachers for
September 2014. After our Easter holiday, I will be sharing the details of the
new staff that we have appointed and also details of those staff who will be
sadly leaving us in summer.
