We introduced our Reception children to Bahasa for the first time this year and they now have weekly lessons of Malaysian Culture and Language.
Here is information about how they enjoy learning MCL in KLASS!
This term, Reception children have been learning colours, numbers 1-6 and shapes. At the beginning of each lesson, the children sing the Malay song called Bangun Pagi, which most of them can sing very well now (some parents have mentioned that they’re starting to know it well too!). We ensure that activities organised during lessons will suit different types of learners and our children are making good progress by learning through games and songs.
A couple of weeks ago, our Reception children were given small vocabulary folders which are useful and attractive, for them to practice Bahasa at home with their families. Thank you to our Reception parents for the fantastic feedback on these folders!
Chidlren are not only learning Bahasa Malaysia, but they’re also learning about the Malaysian culture, as we believe that learning a language and the culture that goes with it is essential. We celebrated Hari Raya at the beginning of term. The children also learnt an Indian Song and a dance during our Deepavali Celebrations.
We are delighted to teach them and I’m very impressed with their motivation and enthusiasm. More topics and interesting activities are will be taught during our Bahasa lessons, let’s enjoy learning Bahasa the KLASS way!
