“When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure that an Adventure is going to happen.” ― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
There was a buzz of excitement in the air this week at EP as the options for next year’s trips week were revealed in assemblies! Despite a busy start to the year, staff have worked extremely hard researching locations and designing tours to enable us to offer another impressive range of exciting educational trips this year, ranging from a new Year 10 trip to Borneo, to a Creative Arts trip to Melbourne and a 6th Form adventure to Mongolia. For a full list of the trips options available for Trips Weeks 2017 and to see some of the highlights from Trips Week 2016, please see this presentation, which was shown to students this week.
Trips Week is a strong tradition at the Alice Smith School and one that we aim to be an outstanding experience for all students involved by providing them with opportunities to develop outside of the classroom. By providing experiences that students wouldn’t normally have access to and promoting the development of the KLASS Learner Attributes, they enrich the lives of all participants.
If you have a child at EP, you should have received an email containing an electronic questionnaire to select your child’s choices, which needs to be submitted by Monday 21st November. Although Trips Week is not until the last week of the school year, there is a lot to do!
I hope you can share some of our excitement whilst discussing the various options with your children and I hope all students enjoy the trips and gain personal growth through a greater understanding and appreciation for the world in which we all live.
