Arriving at school today and stepping onto Platform 9¾ we found our Houses remamed to Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, and Alice Smith transformed into Hogwarts! Following a sleepover last night our Year 13 young wizards and witches had decorated the school and really made a mark on their last day. There are a few bleary eyed teachers this morning - thank you to Sladeymort and the 6th form team for supporting this activity. It has been a fantastic day for all, with much emotion not least in the exciting final of Quidditch which took place at lunchtime today. Year 13 you are a wonderful year group, it has been a pleasure for all of your teachers to work with you and we will miss you very much.
Today is also the last day of formal lessons for Year 11 and 12 students with study leave and the programme of exams going into full force next week. We wish all of our students the very best for this exam season. We know you are well prepared and set up for success. Also, well done to our Year 10 students who are weary but happy following their internal exams this week. Their exam schedule has been intense but they have behaved impeccably and should be proud of their efforts.
Having visited the Art room when the GCSE and A Level exams were taking place I have to say that the work produced by the students this year is simply stunning. Please put the date in your diaries now for this year’s MAD Show (Thursday 16th June) when you will be able see the incredible work of our talented students in Art, Media and Design Technology.
Looking ahead, good luck to our sportsmen and women this weekend, taking part in Flying Fish, Girls Touch, and U14 and 18 Cricket. Also next week, we are looking forward to hosting the FOBISIA Music Teachers’ Conference with 70 delegates. We are proud to be hosting this even at both our JB and EP campuses over three days, bringing together teachers from around the region to develop connections, share experiences and learn together. Thank you to our Cross Campus Music Team who have been working very hard on this conference.
Have a lovely weekend
