Bangkok Patana played host to our rugby team in the 20th anniversary Super SEASAC. A strong squad traveled to Bangkok on Thursday morning with the target of returning with a medal.
The tournament started very strongly with a narrow defeat to favorites UWC Dover in the first round, this performance was capped by a remarkable kick and chase try scored by Ollie Thesiger. The squads spirits remained high as they went on to defeat UWC Dover 'B' team and BIS Jakarta later that day. Ferocious tackling from Zubin McLeod and Doug Lyle personified the KLASS performance on day one of SEASAC 2016.
Day two was fraught with nerves, KLASS needed a win over NIST to ensure they made the semi finals. The game turned out to be an epic battle between two teams of gutsy and driven athletes. KlASS dominated possession and territory through out the game but were unable to break through the incredible NIST defence. The game finshed 0-0 meaning that NIST progressed to the semi finals. The team went on to lose narrowly to Bangkok Patana in the 5th place play off. Although the boys didn't quite reach their target they came home very proud of their performance and have set the wheels in motion for future years.
