Happy New Year! Welcome back everyone and a special brand new welcome to all new parents and students! We hope everyone had a fantastic break over the holidays and have now settled back into the routine of a new term at school. It’s been great to meet some of you at the welcome coffee mornings this week.
As it’s a new term, we’d like to again introduce our elected PTA Committee to you. Although we come together as one whole school PTA Committee, we endeavour to ensure that each campus is equally represented by parent volunteer members.
Representing the Primary Campus at Jalan Bellamy (JB) are Alex Williams (PTA Chairperson); Tracy Leach (JB Group Leader); Anand Rampersaud (JB Welcome Group); Gen Harding (Class Rep Co-ordinator) and Sharianne Quirk.
Representing the Secondary Campus at Equine Park (EP) are Maheswari Ghantala (Treasurer); Willemien Van Der Does (EP Group Leader); Suk Ng and Jessica Lim.
We’d like to give a big thank you to Helen Lynch who is stepping down from the Committee this term. She has been a valuable member of the team and will be greatly missed. Kelly Chivers has gallantly volunteered to step in and will take over Helen’s role as EP Welcome Group Rep. We’re hoping to get our ‘mugshots’ up onto the PTA noticeboards soon at each campus (but remember you can spot us by our KLASS PTA badges); watch this space! Always happy to help!
Also, here’s our mission statement to reinforce what KLASS PTA is all about: To build community within the whole school through events and activities which involve students, teachers and their families; to create a welcoming and vibrant school community by supporting new families in their transition to Alice Smith and Kuala Lumpur.
Plea for raffle prizes/sponsorship for the Charity Dinner
The annual KLASS Charity Dinner on 5th February at the Shangri-La Hotel is drawing ever closer and we would be most grateful for your support. It’s a fantastic evening so do come along! Tickets priced at RM 330 are available through the Finance Office at both campuses or via this link; why not get a few pals or fellow class parents together and book a table?
Regarding raffle prizes/sponsorship, we welcome donations of any form and size for this event, which in the past have included raffle prizes, items for the auction and monetary contributions.
All donations will receive recognition at the event. If you are interested in sponsoring or helping out at any of our events, please do not hesitate to contact the PTA directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
