Written by Amelia Thesiger Year 6T,
World War 2 day was amazing! We did loads of fun activities like cooking and spying while also using our learner attribute skills. When we were cooking, we made lolly pop cakes. We had to be good communicators as well as being community-minded when the time came to clean up.
When we did spy games, our class had great fun trying to decode the messages and while we were doing that we had to be great problem solvers and good communicators.
We also did art and made WW2 skylines (it got very messy). We had to be independent workers so we could get everything done. When we had to do dancing, I agree at the beginning I wasn't very comfortable working with a boy, but it was a blast and we used our happy and healthy learner attributes. For our last activity, we played WW2 games and we had to be independent and read the instructions in our group and play the game properly. Of course at the end of the day, we did a WW2 general knowledge quiz and fortunately for my team and me, we won the quiz out of 13 teams.
Today was a wonderful experience. It showed me how much fun I could have while using my learner attributes at the same time. I personally give WW2 day a ten out of ten!
