Blue skies returned to Equine Park for the end of the week and it has been terrific to hold outdoor PE lessons and ECAs again, and for students and staff to enjoy being outside during breaks and lunchtimes.
This week students in Year 9 and 11 have continued to develop their knowledge about entering the next phase of school and choosing their A Levels and GCSE options. The Year 11 students worked closely with Sixth Formers getting first hand information on subject content, choice combination and life in the Sixth Form, and the Year 9 students had the opportunity to meet in small groups to ask questions to Heads of Department about GCSE curriculum. Decisions don’t need to be made for some time yet but the process of learning and developing understanding to make informed choices takes place over a period of months.
Today we held our first Parent Workshop on Visible Learning and Growth Mindsets. Thank you to Mr Connell and Ms Stewart-Williams for their workshop and to all parents who attended. We hope you enjoyed the event. Importantly, we would like to thank you for attending with a growth mindset, and your willing participation - especially with the juggling challenge! The presentation and resources used today will be made available on the Parent Portal.
Today we finish for half term and I would like to wish everybody who is heading off on holiday a very enjoyable, safe and relaxing break. If you are staying in Kuala Lumpur, please do head to the KL Photography Festival which is being held this weekend at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre where our exceptionally talented KLASS Photographers and Artists will be exhibiting work alongside the professional elite of South East Asia's photography community. Thank you to Mr Jackson and the team of staff who have been leading our involvement in this exciting event and as Mr Jackson says ‘miss it miss out!’.
Have a lovely half-term break,
Principal Secondary Campus
