The Year 6 Production, We Will Rock You, was an amazing experience, teaching us important roles, such as responsibility and independence. During the weeks leading up to the production, many students spent hours each day, simply rehearsing, whereas less demanding roles, such as backstage and non-speaking roles, spent a large amount of time on their rock anthology.
Although it was all worth it, school life during production rehearsals was hectic and very repetitive. The most fascinating part of the production was how almost everything was monitored and created by the students, including the light, props and music.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the amazing teachers in Year 6 for directing and supervising this spectacular production; to all the parents who spent many late nights putting together our incredible costumes; and last but not least, thanks to all the representatives who also helped with the make-up and the incredible set.
We Will Rock You was admittedly a hard production to put together, with some really complex songs; however, the teachers were supportive and kept the whole thing running smoothly. With an exciting blend of rockin’ rhythm with dramatic scenes, colourful costumes and an intriguing storyline, the production was an overwhelming success that came together at the last minute, with our first and only dress rehearsal just three days before the ‘real’ thing.
In conclusion, this was a superb ending to our final year in Primary school.
