I would like to extend another huge THANK YOU to all the children, staff and parents for the success of this year’s Primary Campus Charity Days. At our celebration assembly on Tuesday, we were delighted to announce that we had raised a staggering total of RM 85,025. Everyone from Pre-school to Year 6 should be congratulated for their commitment and hard work which reflected the real charitable spirit of our school community. As well as the above amount, we also raised an additional RM5,000 for our Nepalese guards. You can view a video of our charity days here.
The money raised will now be sent to the British School of Kathmandu who are supporting school rebuilding programmes. These projects will benefit children, are related to education, and we know they will give long term benefit to the children and people of Nepal.
As a reward for all the children’s hard work, the teachers put on a performance of one of the dances from ‘Grease’. A special thanks to those brave enough to take part! We also learnt that the lucky winners of the 'Gunkathon' were Mr Pearce and Ms Timmons. The Year 6 students are currently organising a special 'gunking' ceremony which will take place in front of the whole school on the last Monday of term. An event not to be missed!
Another performance not to be missed is the upcoming Year 6 Production. They will be performing Ben Elton's hit musical ‘We Will Rock You’ to both the school and parents next week. The school hall has been transformed into ‘Wembley Stadium’ and it looks spectacular. This promises to be most memorable and fitting end to our Year 6s time at primary school.
You will be pleased to hear that our 2014-15 Yearbook has arrived and will be sent home on Monday. The Yearbook provides a visual and written record of another successful and happy year at Alice Smith. As you know, each week of school is packed with many special events and this book captures the vast range of activities that make up a year in the life of the school. If you have not pre-ordered a copy, the book can be purchased from the Finance Office at both campuses.
Finally, I look forward to seeing many of you at the PTA Summer Fair tomorrow.
Have a pleasant weekend.
