Sport Success Last Weekend

CISCL Climbing: Bouldering

Team: U9, U11, U13, U15 & U18

Event Date:  26th September 2026

Venue: Camp 5, Eco City

Opponents: AIMS schools and independent climbers

[Primary] Over the last few years, climbing has grown to become one of our more successful sports at the primary campus - both in terms of the number of children participating in the CISCL events and our achievements at them. Today was no different. From first timers to experienced climbers, there was a palpable sense of challenge, grit and determination among the Alice Smith participants. Overall, the primary school squad finished in second place - making it yet another podium finish. In terms of individuals, special mention should go to the following:

• U11 Girls: 1st place, Athena J / 2nd place, Sophia C / 3rd place, Evie H
• U9 Girls: 4th place, Nancy L
• U9 Boys: 4th place, You Liang T

Well done to all that took place and we look forward to seeing you all at the top rope event that is forthcoming…

[Secondary] The climbing team were in action last weekend in the CISCL Climbing competition at Camp5 Eco City. The team came away with 2 gold medals, Edward H U13 and Charlotte H U15 and 1 bronze for Elise S U13.

The team managed to secure 1st place overall in the Secondary School category, despite only having representatives in 5 out of the 6 categories which is a fantastic achievement for all students involved.

U18 Boys & Girls Football – AIMS Champions! 🏆

Event Date: Saturday 26th September

Venue: EPMSOM College Malaysia

Opponents: ISKl, Garden, KTJ

[KLASS U18 Boys] secured their first-ever AIMS trophy in dramatic fashion! Despite the final being cut five minutes short by lightning, the boys had already raced into a commanding 4-1 lead and looked comfortable against 2024 and 2025 champions Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar.

The team showed impressive resilience and squad depth throughout the tournament. They opened against hosts Epsom College, eventually breaking down a resolute defence for a 1-0 win, before progressing past ISKL on penalties following a tight 0-0 draw.

Particularly impressive was the boys' ability to execute what they’ve practiced in training—blending secure possession with sharp, direct attacks. Their next challenge comes this weekend (2nd and 3rd October) at the Twin Towers Tournament hosted by ISKL.

[KLASS U18 Girls] Despite a challenging pre-season schedule, the U18 Girls Football team started their competitive season by winning the U18 Girls Tournament at AIMS, hosted by EPSOM College. The team beat ISKL 2-0, GIS 3-0 and KTJ 6-0 in a round robin and knockout style tournament, with strong performances from the midfielders and defenders involved also meaning that the team went through the whole tournament without conceding a single goal. The team will now look forward to Twin Towers Football at ISKL (2-3 October) as the preparations for SEASAC Football continue (5-8 November).

Views from the captain, Yasmin Choudhury:

The tournament highlighted the talent our team holds, with each and everyone of us fighting for one another, supporting teammates’ outstanding performances off and on the pitch and introducing the new girls and our excellent new coaches to the sense of pride, belonging and passion that KLASS sports holds. In particular, this was seen through Thea Hutton's goals, Nadine Heemskerk's clean sheet and Ava Doyle's and Chloe White's battle in midfield, however they couldn't have done this without every other member of the team.
