It’s been a long while since English
and Maths moved out of their ‘old’ accommodation into what is now
affectionately called the Temporary Block, but I am delighted to say that they
will soon be moving into their new learning areas in the ‘North Wing’.
In anticipation, staff have been
busy packing up resources in preparation for first lessons in the North Wing
which will start as soon as we return after the half-term break. To smooth the
process, students will spend some time over this coming week looking around
these wonderful new classrooms and break-out spaces, and I hope to share with
all of the Alice Smith community some photographs and comments in next week’s newsletter.
At the same time, MFL will be moving
out of their current accommodation to allow for the refit of that area into a
much more modern and learning-focused space. They move to the Temporary Block
so it really is a logistical ‘musical chairs’ challenge for us all! As a result
of the impending building work in MFL, visitors to our campus will experience
some inconveniences during the next phase due to relocated hoarding but, as
ever, safety is our main priority.
I would like to offer my thanks to
all the teachers involved in moving. They’ve seen the new spaces and I know
they are very excited about moving in. I’d also like to say a big thank you to
all our support staff who continue to do such a wonderful job in enabling this
move to go so smoothly.
