On Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Burgess and showing him around our Secondary Campus.
Peter and his family lived in KL for five years and his children attended our school when the land at Equine Park was purchased and the Secondary Campus was built and opened. Peter was project manager for the construction of the new campus at EP, no small feat when the land was all jungle and there was a tight timeframe to build and open the campus in 1997. Peter and his family now live in Auckland and he is Technical Director (Project Management) for Beca.
Last week I mentioned the mock interviews we have in the week commencing 13th October for our Year 13 students who are applying for Oxbridge, Medicine, Veterinary Science or Dentistry for university next year. If you are an Oxbridge graduate yourself or have a background and experience that you feel would be helpful with these interviews, please contact Emily Graham (firstname.lastname@example.org) who leads our higher education programme in our Sixth Form. It would not require much of your time - a few hours on one or two days would be really appreciated.
I would like to extend my thanks to our parent governors and our PTA for their time in the recent training workshops with Marc Frankell and for welcoming new families and supporting our parent coffee mornings. A strong Alice Smith community relies on this voluntary strength and a sense of generosity to others.
Following on from my letter to parents this morning, I would like to extend our best wishes to Mrs Fuller, her husband Nick, and daughter Freya, as they look forward to the exciting addition to their family at Easter in 2015.
