The Primary Campus normally has an orderly and calm environment; hard working students and dedicated teachers all busy learning with a healthy respect for The Golden Rules.
So how was it that on Monday, 17th March commotion and chaos broke out, with 110 Year 3 children stampeding and hollering for all they were worth. Wearing ripped tunics, intimidating helmets (artistic license was given to those wearing the suspect horned variety), furry leg-warmers and brandishing a decidedly illegal array of weapons, the Year 3 Vikings carried out their raid on those poor, unsuspecting children in Year 2. Five trembling children were forcibly kidnapped and held up for auction by the axe-wielding Mr Aaron.
With 110 Vikings shouting at the top of their lungs, it was impressive to see the five kidnapped children hold their nerve and eye their captors with a certain amount of contempt.
Once the victims had been sold off for the grand sum of RM5, the Vikings resumed their feast in grand style. Chicken legs were suitably gnawed, bread torn and gobbled and ‘Mead’ gulped down heartily. Table manners were certainly not adhered to and the noise level rivalled the decibels of the lightning alarm!
We know that most Vikings were hard working, law-abiding citizens. However, Year 3 decided that playing the part of the ‘Beserkers’ and Viking warriors was a far more entertaining prospect than being a farmer or servant. The children certainly embraced their historic roles with relish!
