On Friday 28th March, the Alice Smith School PTA will be presenting some ‘KLASS Acts’ at The Shangri-La Hotel and hoping to raise money for all of the community charities that the Secondary Campus supports during the annual trips week.
As well as helping the PTA with the organisation of the event, Sixth Form students will be working on the evening of the Charity Dinner by providing entertainment, selling raffle tickets, serving, and raising awareness for their selected charities, whilst guests will enjoy drinks, a three course meal and the night's entertainment. This will all be in the aim of raising funds for the community work that will be done during the school trips.
Locally this year, we will be completing a reef clean in the Perhentian Islands, supporting the Charity Club in Langkawi and the TAT Turtle Sanctuary in Tioman. The Year 7 trip will continue to support the Forest Care Fund of Global Environment Centre which contributes to the Mangrove Conservation and Rehabilitation programme with Sahabat Hutan Bakau in Kuala Gula, Perak.
Internationally, we will be raising money to help the Life Home Project which supports southern Thailand’s HIV/AIDS affected community; the Divya Sewa Mission which runs a school for children of leprosy patients in India; and other charities in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.
All parents from both the Primary and Secondary Campus are invited to attend, as are any other friends of the community.
Tickets will be on sale from accounts shortly. If you wish to support the event in any way through sponsorship or donation of prizes, please contact Morwenna Franssens at email@example.com.
