We arrived at 7:30am for the 3.5hour tournament at Tenby International School in Setia Alam. After warming up, we played our first game against the host school Tenby. The final score was 4-0 to us with Georgina Hagger scoring 2 goals, Uma Midzic scoring 1 and Alma Dahl scoring.
Once the match was over, we were informed that 2 schools weren’t going to show up so the groups had to be changed so that there were 3 teams in each group. We were placed in a group with Tenby and ISP. Since there was a change of groups we had to play our match against ISP. After an interesting match, the final score was 3-1 to us with Thasya Thevandran scoring 2 goals and Robin Mccartney scoring 1.
We waited to see who would be playing in the finals while re-energise ourselves with a well deserved break. After all the group matches, the winner of the other group (GIS, ELC, and BSKL) was GIS so they would be who we play against. Quickly we shook off our nervous jitters with 2 early goals from Thasya, followed by 3 other goals from Uma, Georgina, and Alma. It was a very successful final with a score 5-0 to us. Our last game was the best we’ve played the whole season, it captured the improvement from each and every player, it showcased our teamwork and it proved that we are a very flexible team because even though we took some players off, we replaced them and they did their job very well and worked well with the rest of the players on the pitch. Our defence and attack was highly organised throughout the whole tournament especially in the last game making it easy for players to slip on and off the pitch and to switch positions if needed. Overall it was a great tournament, everyone had a good time and it was a great practice for FOBISIA. We represented KLASS very well throughout the tournament, showing respect for the referees, coaches, our teammates and fellow footballers.
