The support given to our school by the voluntary work of our governing body and the PTA is a special feature of our community. For over 70 years, these efforts and this commitment of time and expertise has helped to shape and sustain the future of ASSA from its humble beginnings in 1946.
The continuing good work has been evident already this academic year. The recent PTA event held at the Primary Campus to welcome back families following the summer break highlighted the important role that this group plays in assisting new families, and those continuing at the school, in making connections and building our community links.
As I mentioned last week, we welcome and encourage you to participate fully in the life of our school, with our Code of Conduct for Parents providing helpful guidelines for parents to support the work of the staff and the well being of our children.
This morning I participated in a meeting of the Council of governor’s Master Plan Sub-committee at the EP Secondary Campus. The MPS has the important role of overseeing major facilities improvement projects at the school. It consists of current governors and co-opted parent representatives with expertise and experience across many areas of the design and construction sector, ensuring that the projects being undertaken are of the highest quality and provide value for money for parents.
Current progress on this latest project is featured in our newsletter this week.
As Head of School, I greatly appreciate and value the support given by our governing body. You can learn more about the school’s Council of Governors and their role on KLASS Gateway. There is also a tab to keep you up to date with our facilities Master plan.
Have a safe weekend.
