Christmas is obviously coming as the school calendar is bursting at the seams between now and the end of term - with the school’s festive celebrations just around the corner, starting with the Christmas Concert on Wednesday 4th December, 6.30pm at the Secondary Campus.
Parents, students and teachers have been treated to a wonderful ‘technicolour’ production of Alice in Wonderland by the all-singing, all-smiling Year 4 students this week. The costumes, make-up and stage sets complimented the excellent voices, dancing and acting perfectly. Year 5 have also enjoyed a trip to one of Malaysia’s gems, the Royal Selangor Factory.
Thank you to all those parents who attended the GCSE certificate presentation this week and also the Year 11 Parents Evening. Although we aim to plan the latter with the best intentions sometimes you may wish you could spend that bit longer with a specific teacher. In this a particularly important year academically for your child, please contact the teacher concerned if you feel there is more to discuss.
There is no let up either for our sports teams and coaches with this being the busiest term for them too with an international tournament almost every weekend! Good luck to our Under 15 FOBISIA team who are currently competing in Bangkok.
We hope as many parents and students are able to see the uniform display at either campus (outside the Primary Campus office and in the Secondary Library foyer) which highlights the small improvements we are making to the main uniform items from September 2014. These have been made in response to the feedback from the uniform survey sent to parents earlier this year.
Good luck to our A Level artists who are participating in the Art Jam working on set designs for the school production on Saturday. Also taking place this weekend is the 33rd Terry Fox Run at Taman Titiwangsa, on Sunday at 8am. If you are free we hope you will join the many Alice Smith teachers and students taking part in this popular event all for cancer research.
Finally, please note that next week is the last week of Extra-Curricular Activities.
I hope you have a well-earned restful weekend,
Director of School
