On Saturday 23rd November, 52 students represented KLASS at the annual Garden International School Biathlon.
The GIS Modern Biathlon relays is a two-discipline event where teams, consisting of two boys and two girls compete in a running relay race and a freestyle swimming race.
In the Under 11 age category students, are required to run a 4 x 400m running relay followed by a 4 x 50m swimming relay. In the Under 9 category, students are required to run a 4 x 200m running relay followed by a 4 x 25m swimming relay.
It was an extremely exciting morning with 26 teams from KLASS, GIS, AISM, ISP, BSKL and ISKL competing in each age category. As always, KLASS demonstrated a number of successful and exceptional performances throughout. A special mention to Sam Compton, Natalie Hunter, Lauren Purchase and Kieran Sargeant who were awarded silver medals after winning the running relay in a time of 5:05.31s and finishing the swimming relay in second place in a time of 2:48.44s. To add to this, there were 32 students who had the opportunity to wear a red vest and represent KLASS for the first time as KLASS chose to enter mixed ability teams. The PE department are very proud of all of the students who took part.
