We hope that the special feature articles in the primary and secondary campus news sections of the newsletter are interesting and informative. Last week, Mr Verity focused on Mathematics provision, with useful tips about how you can help at home. Mrs Howling expanded on our Sixth Form, in particular higher education and the support and assistance available for our students.
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), an independent research project for Sixth Form students, is featured this week for secondary. Last year almost one-third (29%) of Sixth Formers attained an A* grade for their projects, an excellent achievement. At Primary, we look at the enriching learning experiences our children have access too, with Mrs Shine explaining more about the Year 6 Challenge.
The safety and welfare of our school community is always very high priority. Mr Verity shared a letter with all primary parents this week about improvements to our campus perimeter security following the recent car theft incident. We review the security of our school campuses regularly as part of our on-going risk management procedures.
We appreciate your help in maintaining a safe and secure environment in and around our campuses. Always wearing your identity tag when visiting the school (all drivers should also have identity tags) and remaining polite when asked to show your identity tag or car stickers helps our guards to ensure that we are kept safe and secure.
Congratulation to all of our students who participated in the ISAC Athletics inter-school competition at our Secondary Campus sports complex last weekend. Our primary team won their competition with the secondary team runners up to ISKL. It was pleasing to hear of many positive comments about the quality of our facilities which were in use again on Tuesday for the secondary inter-house sports day.
The KLASS PTA Spring Fair will be held at the Secondary School Campus on Saturday. Proceeds from the fair support both the school and the two parent nominated PTA charities. The fair runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Come along and join in the fun of the fair and support our PTA.
The Sixth Form Charity Dinner is on Friday 21st April this year, not long after we return for term 3. Come along and enjoy a wonderful evening of entertainment and fun, led by our talented Sixth Formers and all for a good cause. Save the date and start to book your tickets!
Best wishes to our SEASAC swim teams in Singapore and SEAMC Maths in Jakarta this weekend.
