Our 2016 anniversary year is drawing to a close. Through our anniversary celebrations this year, we have embraced and strengthened our connection with the past and deepened our understanding of the rich heritage of our school. We have reflected on past accomplishments and successes and the legacies left by previous and current generations.
Over 700 guests attended the Anniversary Platinum Gala Ball at the Majestic Hotel last Friday, a wonderful mix of alumni, parents, staff, students and friends that captured the rich character of our community, past and present. A huge thank you to the organising committee for making the Anniversary Ball such a very special occasion.
As we look to the exciting future for our school, we are committed to enhancing the exceptional learning environment provided for every child, manifested in the caring, positive and dynamic ethos and culture of our school.
The KLASS PTA Christmas Bazaar is on Saturday 10th December at the Primary Campus. This is one of the PTA's main fundraising events of the year with proceeds supporting both the school and the two parent nominated PTA charities. We welcome donations from parents for the raffle which is a key feature of the event. In the past, parent donations have included prizes such as dining vouchers, hampers or tickets. All donations will receive recognition at the events.
If you are interested in donating, sponsoring or helping out at any of our events, please do not hesitate to contact the PTA directly at PTA@alice-smith.edu.my
The school academic calendar for 2017 - 2018 was released this week. You can access the calendar on the school website, on the parent portal and on KLASS Gateway . Please note that public holiday dates marked with an asterisk may change and as a result, we may need to make slight adjustments to the calendar.
Before we break for Christmas, you will receive a copy of our 2017 desktop calendar. The calendar reflects on the special events and happenings of our anniversary year.
Please remember that our last day for students this term is Thursday 15th December 2016. There is a staff appreciation morning at the Secondary campus for all teaching and non-teaching staff from both campuses on Friday 16th December, the last day of term 1.
We will ensure that Thursday 15th December is a fitting end of the first term of our school year for all of our students. A more detailed "countdown" of activities in the last two weeks leading up to the Christmas school break will be shared with you closer to the time.
Final tender interviews were held this week for the next phase of facilities development planned to commence at the secondary campus in December. This campus master plan site (on KLASS Gateway and the parent portal) has further information.
