Since our last KLASS Times, we have had a number of visitors to school. Last Friday, Ben Proud, our Olympic alumni, inspired our Junior Torpedoes with a coaching session in the pool.
On Monday, we were fortunate to have a visit of a range of supercars including Lamborghinis, a Mclaren and a Maserati. To top it off, Lewis Hamilton’s F1 car came for a visit. I’m not sure who was more excited by these visitors and cars this week - the staff or children? Thank you to our parent, Dato' Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali, the CEO of Sepang International Circuit, for organising this amazing experience for us.

There’s been some fabulous art going on around the school this week. Children from Year 5 have been adding to our mural at the front of the school as part of our build up to our 70th anniversary year. Children have been sketching with blue paint, creating a very effective mural of over 100 works of art. Make sure, you have a look next time you are passing. We will continue to update you on events that form part of our 70th birthday!
We held a parent workshop on homework and home learning this week. In addition to the prescribed homework that each class teacher sets, Mrs Wellington and the Learning Team are starting a Home Learning Library. This recognises that there is an incredible amount of learning that takes place beyond the school day through parent and child-led experiences. There will be packs available for parents and children to take home with a range of activities to do together. There are packs for every subject containing practical resources and instruction cards e.g. recipes, games, science experiments, workbooks etc. These will be available after half term, initially in the Parent Deli and then it will move above the Pre-School classroom, open on Monday and Wednesday from 7-30 to 9-00 am. We hope you enjoy using this new resource. Click here to view the slides from this workshop.
Don’t forget to follow the school on Twitter where you can see photos of a whole range of activities that take place across the school every week. There is even a link on the KLASS Gateway where all of those Tweets are brought together in one place.
Just a reminder that there is a public holiday on Monday 3rd October, so we will see you all on Tuesday 4th October.
Enjoy the long weekend!
