Here's more exciting reports in Part 2 of our FOBISIA Primary Games coverage.
Wednesday 27th May - Athletics, Martha & Zahra
After lunch we started athletics. We did very well in athletics because we came 1st overall, beating Garden International School narrowly by six and a half points! Everybody tried really hard and everyone was really worn out and sweaty by the end of the day. First we participated in the field events and had to nervously wait for each of our events. Next we did the exciting track events. Zahra did very well and got 1st in the 100m A group and a 3rd place medal for 200m A group. Martha also did very well and got a 2nd place for basketball push. She was also in 2nd for quoit throw and tee-ball throw. Fizz did very well, and got a gold medal for 60m sprint, and a silver medal for tee-ball throw. Some people broke personal bests and tried really hard which resulted in us getting first place and there are too many people to mention as everyone did so amazingly. We are so proud of our FOBISIA team, months of hard work had finally paid off!
Mr Morgan: Our athletics team truly were amazing. Throughout the day, everyone managed to contribute to the team in one way or another. There was cheering for our sprinters, energising for our heroic 800m runners, and lost voices from the parents. Not an event went by without a personal best or a medal with each student supporting their team and doing their best.
Friday 29th May - Football, Finley & Connor
Today we woke up ready for our last day of FOBISIA, FOOTBALL! We were ready and eager to begin. But first things first, we had to go eat some breakfast, buffet style. After breakfast we were ready to hop on the bus and get to Patana School sports field.
We were excited about getting on the football pitch. When we got there the Under 11 girls A team played against the home team, Bangkok Patana, which sadly they lost by 2 amazing goals, 2-0. Playing at the same time, the girls B team were playing Patana where Izzy Galvin helped the victory with an amazing bottom corner goal!
Then it was the boys turn to shine. We were against Gardens International School, our all time rivals! The A team demolished them 7-0 and the B team hammered them 2-0. When the day was about to end, we were desperate to hear the result.
First thing first, the girls B team came 2nd place, the girls A team came 3rd, the boys B team came an amazing 1st place. Awesome! Finally, the boys A team came 3rd. After the awards and pictures, we all headed over to Patana for the Gala dinner and Disco. We sat with other schools, it was a really cool idea and we made some new friends.
Mr Morgan: Possibly our most successful day with all 4 teams finishing in the top 3. Certainly the biggest roller coaster day with highs and lows throughout the competition. Well done to all the players who knuckled down and showed great determination to persevere even in the face of defeat.
