I hope you had a lovely half term holiday last week.
On our return to school last Wednesday, it was a pleasure to attend our Junior Sports Awards Dinner to recognise and celebrate our incredible young sports men and women. Following outstanding performances in a number of different arenas, Matthew T and Jamila AR were named Under 13 sportsman and woman of the year with Team of the Year being awarded to the U13 Football Team.
After a short pause, exams have now resumed as we head into the final period of the year. Students should be congratulated for their approach to their exams as they have continuously demonstrated commitment, maturity and positivity during what can be a challenging time.
We have a busy week ahead at our Secondary Campus starting tomorrow with our inaugural KLASS Torpedo Attack Invitational swim meet. We are sure it will be an exciting event and wish our students all the best in the competition.
Sunday sees the final rehearsal for our summer concert which will be held on Monday evening at 6pm. We do hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a wonderful evening of music. Further details can be found here.
We will also be holding our annual Media, Art, Design and Technology (MAD) Show next Thursday. The evening is a wonderful celebration of the outstanding work produced by students in the disciplines of Media, Art, Design & Technology. In addition, there will be some wonderful solo and group performances from our highly talented musicians. The show will officially open in our Performing Arts Hall at 5:30pm with a short cocktail reception. Thereafter we invite all guests to take a tour of our campus to see the amazing work that our students have produced over the year. We are honoured to welcome His Excellency, Dr John Subritzky, the New Zealand High Commissioner to Malaysia who will officially open our show; he will be accompanied by his wife, Madame Angela Subritzky. During the evening we will be holding a silent auction of student work to raise funds for two rural community schools in Cambodia with whom we will be working as part of our annual ‘Trips Week’.
Thank you to all parents who completed our survey this year. There are many causes for celebration, and of course, some areas we have identified for further work. I emailed all parents earlier today with further details and a link to an executive summary, please do take some time this weekend to read this document.
Finally, a quick reminder that James Wright, an internationally acclaimed coach, presenter and author, will be holding a workshop for parents on Wednesday 15th June at 8:00 am. Although the workshop will be held at the JB campus it is for all our parents and further information can be found here. We do hope you will be able to attend.
Have a lovely half term
