On the 26th June, we will be embarking on our first KLASS volunteering adventure to Siem Reap, Cambodia for Trips Week. Accompanied by five members of staff, 35 students from Years 8-13 will be travelling with the primary aim of enriching the lives of some local children.
We will be working with AboutAsia Schools, a sustainably funded non-profit organisation supporting rural education across Siem Reap. We will be visiting two local schools where our students will be running workshops to help develop creativity, sport and language skills. These schools are in desperate need of resources, renovation and development. With only basic provision, it is very difficult to cater for the needs of such a diverse age range of students.
As part of our trip, it is our aim to raise money for these schools. We have already been successful in raising enough money to build an extension on one site; now we are aiming to build a toilet at each school. We are really eager to make as much difference as possible to these two schools and are looking for help from the Alice Smith community in the form of monetary donations, company sponsorship or donations of basic stationery items, such as pens, pencil cases, etc.
If you would like to make a donation of any kind, please contact Lian Battle at email@example.com or Su-Yin Ingle at firstname.lastname@example.org.
