After a successful ECA in computer coding using Scratch last term, a range of students from JB who have demonstrated a high level of ability in computer programming will be entered into this year's Creative Coding competition, hosted by Tanglin Trust School, Singapore. Participants from international schools all across Asia will be participating in the event, which will take place on 13th May 2016.
The competition theme will be based on Melody, where students will need to create a game that makes effective use of music. The competition will run all day and prizes will be awarded for teams in the following categories:
Speed: can your team work like clockwork to produce a stunning game in as a little a time as possible?
Creativity: Is your team ready for a challenge? Can they spark and retain interest in your players?
Showmanship: Are you funny? Are you zany? Can you make others laugh? This is your chance, as a team, to shout and dance your way to victory.
The whole event will be live-streamed between competing schools and you can follow along with the day’s activities by clicking this link, or typing goo.gl/NfkjtY into your browser. The event also ties in with World Scratch Day, where schools around the world will be hosting events to get students involved with programming and computing.
I hope you’ll join me in wishing our teams “Good Luck” and we hope you are able to follow along with the action via the live stream!
