Congratulations to everyone involved in the secondary school performances of MEDEA (Dark Side | Light Side) this week. The culmination of many weeks of preparation, this production was a credit to all who contributed, with excellent standards of acting supported by great staging, costuming, sound and lighting.
The talents and successes of our students are achieved across so many areas. The annual MSSKL Golf was held at KPGA on the 4th February 2016 with five participants from Alice Smith who all did well in their respective categories. Our team consisted of Euan Cuell in Year 12, Kehan Allis in Year 8, Ryan Lee and Daniel Tok in Year 7 and Victoria Tan in Year 6.
Congratulations to Ryan and Victoria for finishing at the top of their age group, the Under 12 Boys and Girls respectively. Daniel finished 4th in the Under 15 boys. Special congratulations to Ryan and Victoria and we wish them luck in the forthcoming national MSSM Golf competition.
SEAMC 16 commenced today at our Secondary Campus, with opening remarks by renowned British Mathematician Charlie Gilderdale and Paul Rennie, Deputy British High Commissioner. With 240 students from 40 regional international schools participating, SEAMC brings together many of the brightest students from SE Asia for two days of challenging maths focused learning, discovery and competition. Teams vie for the Warry Cup, a trophy created in remembrance of Steve Warry, Head of Mathematics at KLASS who initiated SEAMC but tragically passed away in the week leading up to the first competition in 2001. How fitting it is that SEAMC 16 features as one of our special 70th anniversary events this year.
This weekend we also have students participating in the FOBISIA mathematics Competition hosted in KL by ELC. Today, KLASS is also defending our ISAC Athletics title at the Panasonic Mitsushita Sports Complex in Shah Alam. Best wishes to all of our students representing our school in activities this weekend. Go KLASS!!!
This week I was able to attend the launch of the Great Year of Education (GYoE) in Malaysia at the Heriot-Watt University Campus in Putrajaya, officially opened by Her Excellency, Victoria Treadall. As the oldest British International School in Malaysia celebrating our 70th anniversary year, with our reputation for educational excellence Alice Smith is delighted to support the British High Commission with Education is Great, part of the wider campaign to promote all that Great Britain has to offer the world.
Thank you for supporting our endeavours to enhance campus security by clearly showing your ID to the guards when entering the school and extending the courtesy and respect to our security teams in carrying out their duties to ensure the safety of our community.
