The new term is well underway and this week saw the start of our Term 2 Clubs and Activities programme. All went smoothly and as usual, there is a wide range of exciting clubs on offer. In total we have over 550 students attending 100 ECAs each week. From magic club to ‘how to be a cartoonist’, cross stitch to chess club, I believe there is something to interest everyone.
Over the last two weeks, it has been a whirlwind of rehearsals for our Year 4 students as they prepare for their production of ‘A Grimm Night for Hans Christian Andersen’. The performances takes place next week and are liberally sprinkled with songs and include guest appearances from many of our all time favourite fairy tale characters. All the best to Year 4 as they take to the stage.
On Wednesday, we welcomed many new prospective parents to our first Foundation Stage Admissions afternoon. As usual, interest is very high and the children eager and enthusiastic. Also on that day, we held our Year 3 Sports Carnival. There was much excitement, shouting and cheering. It was a fantastic morning of fun; well attended and supported by parents.
Over the next few weeks we have a range of educational trips planned. The first of those, a fun Maths trail, will see Year 2 head off to KLCC to solve some real life mathematical problems. Meanwhile, as part of their 'Plants, Camera, Action' topic, the Year 3 students will be learning about Malaysian plants and their food products when they visit Taman Warisan, the agricultural heritage park in Putrajaya. The Year 5 Residential trip takes place at the end of this month and this year, they will be visiting the recreational resort, Paradise Valley. These visits provide wonderful opportunities to extend our students’ learning and to enrich their understanding and appreciation of themselves, others and the world around them.
Please don’t forget to regularly check the Parent Portal, a one-stop information for quick access to a full school events calendar, a staff directory, copies of recent letters home and links to presentations, policies, FAQs and much more.
Wishing you a pleasant weekend.
