The girls Under 18 SEASAC basketball team have started off the season with a bang. The match against ISP on 26th November was our first fixture of the season and nerves were felt by all. As a team, we had numerous training sessions, shooting practices and outside fitness preparation, but we were still unsure of what to expect. Due to the boys match being played at the same time, we only managed to play 2 quarters, but secured a 3 basket lead in order to get our first win of the season.
Our next match was on 3rd December against ISKL. Tensions were at a high seeing as ISKL are known to be one of our hardest competitors. Nevertheless, the girls went out onto the court in high spirits, determined for another win. 4 tough quarters were played and our fitness was put to the test, but our tight-defence and fast breaks managed to reward us another win over ISKL at the score 34-24.
The team are in high spirits and look forward to more matches against GIS, MKIS and the SEASAC basketball tournament at the end of January.
A huge well done to Joyce, Alya, Rachel, Chloe, Izzy, Bea, Jess, Tara, Holli and Sophie for their excellent performances in these recent matches. Special congratulations and thanks go to Rachel who is leaving and will be missed from the team next term. Also, a shout-out to our constantly supportive coach, Ms. Rose.
