The end of our first term is quickly approaching, with less than two weeks now to our last day. As in past years, we will close both campuses to students at 12:00 midday on Wednesday 16th December. We will be arranging for buses to depart the campuses at midday. Please remember to collect your child at midday if you use private transport. We will be finishing the term with a Christmas lunch at both campuses for all staff, teaching and non-teaching, between 12:00 and 13:00.
The Christmas Concert at EP was a great way to start our countdown to this festive season. Thank you to all of staff involved in organising, arranging, leading and participating in this concert and helping us to celebrate Christmas in such a wonderful way. Special thanks to all of our music teaching staff, Raj and to the staff choir. The Preschool and Reception Nativities happening this week and next are another very special celebration of Christmas for our children.
There is much more to come in the next ten days! The dates, times and venues for other special events leading up to the Christmas break that you are warmly invited to attend include:
Thursday 10th December - Our annual Carol Service at St. Mary's Cathedral commencing at 7.30 p.m.
Saturday 12th December - Our PTA Christmas Bazaar at the JB Campus from 4 - 7pm
Tuesday 15th December - Our Annual 'Carols Round the Tree' concert commences at 6.00 pm at the Primary Campus, Jalan Bellamy
The PTA Christmas Bazaar next Saturday is always a terrific event. This is one of the PTA's main fundraising events of the year with proceeds supporting both the school and the two PTA charities chosen for this year - Rumah Jaireh and the Home of Peace. Please come along to the JB Campus and join in the fun. There is always a great variety of stalls at the bazaar, a wonderful opportunity to browse at leisure and find special gifts for loved ones.
It was another big weekend of sport last weekend, with SEASAC Golf and Cross country, Sporty Girls Netball, ISAC Modern Triathlon and a rugby tournament at MCiM. My thanks to all staff leading competitions and coaching teams and well done to all of our students participating.
It is always a pleasure to host the KL Player’s Pantomime each year at JB, with parents, staff and students of the school involved in the performances. This year’s Pantomime Snow White and the 7 Dwarves has had overwhelming support and finishes with a matinee performance on Sunday.
Today and Saturday, KLASS is hosting the annual ISAC Swimming Competition at our EP pool. With over 500 swimmers participating over the two days, this promises to be an exciting event. Thanks to Mr Bromley and all the staff assisting and supporting with this event and best wishes to our swim team. Best wishes also to our DOE participants who are on silver and gold expeditions this weekend and next.
Another reminder to share the word with any friends from the school you may know in the UK about our 70th Anniversary Alumni Get-together in London on Saturday, 16th January 2016. We look forward to meeting up with KLASS alumni at this event.
It is great to see more followers on our social media sites, particularly Twitter. Have a look at the cozy new Year 5 break out space ! Please also remember to use the Parent Portal as an important link and source of information about school life and school events.
Have a safe weekend.
