Thank you to the festive few who volunteered and helped put up the Christmas Decorations around both campuses on 1st December. All the glitter and sparkle instantly had an uplifting effect around the school, with warm glows and festive cheer in full effect!
Thank you to support staff: You’ll remember that through November we held a collection for support staff so that we could provide refreshments for a party as a thank you for their hard work through the recent haze. The appeal raised RM 2,735 which we used to buy their choice of KFC meal set boxes. The support staff (maintenance, security and domestic teams) really appreciated the gesture and enjoyed their party; thank you so much for your donations!
Mince Pies, Books, Tombola gifts, Chocolate AND CAKES!
We need MORE MINCE PIES PLEASE! Thank you to everyone who donated for the concert at EP; we now need some more for the concert at St Mary’s Cathedral. By the 10th December please; to the office at either JB or EP. Donations of books for second-hand book stall; plus chocolate for the chocolate tombola or unwanted gifts for the general tombola at the Christmas Bazaar are also needed.
Do you and your children love to bake? We also need donations for the Bake Stall please! Please leave all such donations at the main office at either campus or bring on the day. Thank you!
Request for raffle prizes/sponsorship for Christmas Bazaar and the Charity Dinner
We have two events coming up for which we would be very grateful for your generous sponsorship - the Christmas Bazaar on 12th December and the Charity Dinner on 5th February 2016. We welcome donations of any form and size for either event, which in the past have included raffle prizes, items for the charity dinner auction and monetary contributions.
All donations will receive recognition at the events. If you are interested in sponsoring or helping out at any of our events, please do not hesitate to contact the PTA directly at PTA@alice-smith.edu.my
JB/EP Group Meetings: Last campus meetings of the year are coming up. These will be informal and celebratory - with refreshments - a last chance to get-together before the holidays! The EP Group meeting will be on Friday 11th December, 8am in the PDC Room, Library, EP; and the JB Group meeting the following Tuesday, 15th December at 8am in Bellamy 2 at JB.
Dates for your diary
Not long to go until the Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 12th December, 4-7pm at JB. PLEASE sign up for the Year Group stalls; class and year group reps have been spreading the word (with the link to sign up via Google docs). The more folks who volunteer, the less time you need to be on the stall; if there’s no-one to run the stall, the stall has to close. This event is a massive fundraiser and also lots of fun so let’s all work together to make it a big success! It’s a great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping - we have a fantastic selection of vendors this year selling everything from Christmas decorations to home furnishings. Intermovers are generously sponsoring a wrapping station so for a small donation you can also have your presents gift wrapped!
Coming soon in the New Year is the KLASS Charity Dinner on Friday 5th February 2016 at the Shangri-La Hotel. This is a fantastic event and a great fundraiser, a really fun evening; with quality entertainment and wonderful service from KLASS Sixth Formers. Watch this space for further details and get the date in your diary! It’s also a great opportunity for a class get-together if you haven’t planned a class parent dinner yet.
