I am currently attending the Annual EARCOS Leadership Conference in Bangkok. With over 1,200 delegates and a wide range of workshops, this regional conference is a great opportunity to learn more about initiatives, strategies and challenges in international education and how schools are dealing with these. Several members staff and our Council of Governors are also in attendance.
It has been great to see the improvement in the air quality this week and to have our school environment operating normally again. Our calendar of events is very exciting over the the next few weeks, with many sporting fixtures locally and regionally including SEASAC, Phuket Football and Biathlon.
The Celebration of Musicianship Concert in the PA Hall at EP last Sunday evening was a wonderful event with many talented performances. Thanks to all of the students and staff involved.
Congratulations to Kehan Allis, WINNER of the Alice Smith 70th Anniversary Celebration Logo Design competition. His winning entry will be featured on the school website, commemorative merchandise and promotional materials. Our runner up for the competition is Aamin Shafeek. Fantastic prizes awaits for both our Year 8 students. Congratulations!
The Halloween Spookfest party at the Primary Campus on Saturday night from 18:00 - 20:00 promises to be a great evening. Thanks to the PTA and all staff involved in organising and helping out for this event. There’ll be something for everyone...It’s going to be SPOOKTACULAR! Don't miss out!
Alice Smith School's 70th Anniversary Celebrations will kick start with an Alumni Get-together in London on Saturday, 16th January 2016. This coincides with our recruitment trip to London early in term 2 and I am looking forward to meeting up with KLASS alumni at this event. Your help to share the word with other Alumni whom you are in touch with would be greatly appreciated! Click here to book your place
As we know, Mrs Fuller is leaving at the end of this academic year after a very successful tenure as our Primary Campus Principal. The final shortlisted candidates for this post will be visiting KL from 15th - 18th November. The selection process is very rigorous and includes feedback from teaching staff, students, PTA, Council of Governors and the leadership teams. We hope to finalise this appointment before the end of term 1.
Please remember to follow us on Facebook and Twitter and to use the Parent Portal as an important link and source of information about school life and school events.
I wish you all a safe weekend.
