It was fantastic to see so many parents attending our Back to School Night for Key Stage 3 and 4 last night. There were a number of presentations on areas such as our development plans, curriculum, reporting and pastoral support and we hope that the evening was informative and useful. Copies of all the presentations will be placed on the Parent Portal and I encourage you to read through the information. Our Curriculum Booklets will shortly be available for you, also on the Parent Portal. These booklets contain a myriad of useful information about the curriculum in each subject and year group, including course content, homework expectations and assessment.
The week after next we will be holding our parent coffee mornings. These events are an opportunity to meet the tutors, pastoral leadership staff and members of the leadership team. We will be sending out invitations to these coffee mornings next week, but in the meantime please put the following dates in your diaries. We very much hope you can join us.
- Monday 21st September at 8am: Year 7
- Wednesday 23rd September at 8am: Years 8 and 9
- Friday 25th September at 8am: Years 10 and 11
The ECA sign-up has been successfully completed and we are pleased to see that students have signed up for a variety of activities which will enrich and extend their school experience. The ECA programme will begin on Monday 21st September.
A reminder that school will be closed next Wednesday 16th September, for Malaysia Day, and Jeans for Genes will be held on Friday 18th September. On this day, students may wear their jeans to school for a charitable donation. The money raised is used to support medical research into genetic disorders.
Have a lovely weekend.
