On Saturday 5th September, KLASS athletes were in action at both the Singapore Aquathlon and the 113 Bukit Merah Triathlon in Perak.
Matthew Trott competed in the 12-13 age group event consisting of a 400m swim and a 3km run. The 400m swim was Matthew's speciality during which he opened a significant advantage over his fellow competitors. Despite struggling with flu, Matthew followed a solid transition with a smooth run to take first place for the second consecutive year.
2 hours earlier, some 650km north, brother Oliver along with Jack Heneberry competed in the U15 113 Mini Triathlon. The race comprised of a 300m swim, 10km bike and 2km run in sunny conditions at Bukit Merah resort. Jack, benefitting from his elite training had a great swim to be well positioned for the bike leg. Oliver, meanwhile had to play catch-up and the 2 friends came into transition after the bike leg together. With both boys strong on the running leg, they closed on the leaders and came away with a creditable 3rd placing for Oliver and 4th for Jack.
