Over the Easter break the campus was a hive
of activity with the final touches being put in place for the much-needed new
MFL classrooms and a bigger brighter EP Office area.
I would like to offer my thanks to Mr Yap
(Director of Buildings) and his buildings team, Jean Chang (Director of
Administration) and her team, our ICT Service staff as well as Kumar, Vijaya
and maintenance and domestic staff; together everyone helped to make sure the
venues were ready for learning on the first day of Term 3. The MFL staff also
worked very hard to get all their resources arranged so that learning was not
interrupted. We now have 10 wonderful classrooms, together with a great faculty
team room and lots of break-out space to offer students the opportunity for
independent and collaborative learning.
The EP Office block is also now in full
operation and staff are very happy in these new, bright, airy and much needed
spaces. A highlight for me is the fact that we are able to give over space for
students to ‘own’; they now have their own Student Voice office space and I
wait to hear from the Pastoral team and the students to find out how they will
make the most of it.
We will be ordering some more furniture
over the coming weeks as the use of these spaces evolves. Also after the MAD
show later this term, I hope to work with the Art and DT Departments to make
sure we have some of our wonderful student pieces on display.
I hope you enjoy looking at the
photographs. Please do also ask your son or daughter what they think; I’m sure
you’ll hear a very positive response!
