Secondary Overview

Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to Year 9)

Your child will build upon knowledge and understanding gained during their early education whilst developing their proficiency in a wide range of subjects through the acquisition of key learning skills. They will study 14 different subjects including English, maths, science and two languages.

In Year 9 your child will get the opportunity to pick 2 elective subjects to explore and start to tailor their curriculum to their own interests and aspirations before they start their (I)GCSE courses in Year 10. The electives on offer vary each year but in the past have included subjects such as:

Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and Year 11)

Students learn English, Mathematics, Science and a Language whilst also specialising in subject areas which reflect their interests, strengths and aspirations. This stage culminates in (I)GCSE examinations.

Students have the option between 9 and 11 (I)GCSEs depending upon their learning preferences (via combined core and Additional Mathematics plus Triple Science).
