Alice Smith School, Equine Park launched its Apprentice competition recently with the students receiving some tips from AirAsia Berhad Chief Executive Officer Datuk Tony Fernandes.

"The competition is an opportunity for students to take part in an activity that teaches entrepreneurial skills."

"The key ingredient is to have good ideas and most importantly, all must work as a team," said Dato' Fernandes.

Modelled after the hit TV show, The Apprentice, the competition was conceptualised by the school Head Boy Alexander Chong and students Rob Wade and David Broadbent. The competition was launched with a video presentation.

Each team will be given the same business task weekly, with the 'weaker' members being knocked off the list by the "Donald Trump" figure, Alice Smith Head of Mathematics, Tobin Connell.
