The Primary Campus of the Alice Smith School provides a wide range of after school activities. Clubs and activities offer opportunities for students to take on new challenges, interact with students other than their classmates and develop their confidence and self esteem.
In addition to the programme of activities there is an extensive range of team training to which selected students are invited. Letters will be sent from the P.E. Department giving details as appropriate.
What time do activities begin?
Activities begin from 2.10pm to 3.10pm. All children are collected from the Early Years Playground, or, after the first week, meet the teacher in the designated area. A register is taken so that 'missing' pupils can be identified and enquiries made at the office.
Any problems with lateness, discipline or non-attendance during an activity will be dealt with by the Assistant Principal.
The school nurse is on duty during activities in case of accidents.
What do activities cost?
The majority of activities run by school teaching staff are free of charge. Minimal costs are incurred for some activities such as cooking to pay for ingredients.
We are also fortunate to have a number of parents organising clubs where again charges are kept to a minimum.
Outside agencies have set rates that are given out each term. If the child's place is cancelled within the first two weeks of term no costs will be incurred but after that, the classes attended will be charged on a pro rata basis.
Please contact the Assistant Principal or Club Co-ordinator if you wish to discuss particular circumstances.
